We had so much fun celebrating your first birthday. A wave of nostalgia hit me while I was looking for cute photos from the past year to display. You have grown and changed so much over the short 365 day period. We had much to celebrate indeed!
Mimi and Grandaddy Smooth drove all the way from Alabama to be with you. We also invited a few close friends in the area to join us in your celebration. It was so much fun! We decorated the house and your theme was "One is the Perfect Spot." I was so excited to put you in your party dress and get you "dolled up" for the main event.

The birthday outfit is complete! You're not so sure about the hat, but we loved it!
We hosted a yummy back yard barbeque for you. The spread: Cheeseburgers, veggie kababs, asparagus, corn on the cob and chips for the adults. An apple sauce "bar", cheese flats, cheerios, and graham bunnies for the kids.

Big girl taking steps...
Many friends celebrated you from a far. You are so well loved, by so many people across the country. What a blessing!
We had fun watching you open your gifts and play with them. You got lots of cute interactive toys, big girl table dishes, books and clothes.
Conner likes your gifts too! The two of you were obsessed with this phone. It sings, rings, counts, recites the ABCs and so much more.
Failed attempt at a family photo. It was close to nap time and before cake.
It's cake time! This was so much fun!!! We haven't let you have any sweets, minus a bite of two of frozen yogurt here and there.
I had to hold your hands while we sang to you. You were ready to grab the flame on the candle (ah, another trait from her momma!).
Blowing out the candle and ready to dig in.
First bite of cake! Nom, Nom Nom...this cake stuff is pretty good!!!
You didn't get as messy as I thought you would. You were kind of cautious when you dug in and while you did enjoy yourself, you kept the mess contained.
Once you got your first taste, the cake didn't have a chance.
I think this is my favorite picture! after gingerly picking at the cake for a while, you just went for it!
You really had fun squeezing the icing in your hands and watching it ooze through your fingers.
You got icing in your hair when you decided to shake the cake in the air.
The after affects of the sugar! You were really funny to watch. You literally walked around like you'd had a little too much to drink. At one point, you fell down on the floor and just laid there laughing. We were all in stitches watching you. Needless to say, we prolonged your nap that day :)
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! You are too precious!
