You had your first overnight without either mommy or daddy around. Daddy and I have both left on overnight trips without you, but this is the first time both of us have left at the same time. Daddy's company held its annual meeting in Chicago this year. We called Grandmommy to come and stay with you while we enjoyed some time at the conference and activities in the city. This was the perfect opportunity for us to experiment with being away from you. We were away, but still close enough to get back if either of you needed us.
Mommy was a little nervous to leave you. You're now at an age where you understand when I'm around and when I'm not. Grandmommy reassured me everything would be fine, and you know what? She was right! You were wonderful for her. She told me you had wonderful adventures together and you were all smiles. You ate and were generally very happy. This made both mommy and daddy very happy. We are confident we can leave you for a few nights and you'll be ok.
We are very appreciative of all grandmommy did while we were away!
