To my surprise and after much begging, I was cleared to join my family for our annual beach trip. Thank goodness we live just a few hours from the coast! If we still lived in GA, it wouldn't have happened. I burst into tears the first time I asked and was told not to get my hopes up since I'd be going into my 36th week of pregnancy. Beach week is my favorite week of the year! It is so laid back and the kids truly have a blast playing and reuniting. What a blessing to have cousins so close in age!
This year, Hannah really enjoyed building sand castles, jumping waves, running and splashing in the water, digging holes, playing games, and going in the deep water with both mommy and daddy. Most days, the adults built a series of small pools and castles for the kids to sit and play in. They loved it!
We only had one day of bad weather due to hurricane Arthur. We were lucky and only experienced strong winds and heavy rain. Thankfully, we came prepared with movies, board games, and toys for the little ones. In addition, they all still take naps. It actually made for a nice and relaxing day. The weather cleared by evening and it ended up being the only bad weather day this year, yay!
The 4th was great as usual! The kids love watching the annual golf cart parade and catching candy. The military flyover is always something we look forward to and it did not disappoint. To finish the day, we let Hannah stay up to watch the fireworks this year. We took her down to the beach and she had an up close and personal fireworks show. It was great! She was a champ and loved every minute.
A peek at our week... Enjoy!
Maybe a good ball player? She made contact consistently.
Digging a hole
4th of July parade, sand castles, boogie boards, cousins, and splashing!
Until next year...
